Oudhiya… Sunnah and Solidarity
Your Oudhiya is an authenticate sunnah but it will send a solidarity message to to poorer muslim communities around the world. We need to perform the oudhiya in this country to proclaim the sunnah. However, sharing it with poor muslims in other unfortunate areas will double the reward (Allah willing). Contact info@salam-mosque.org to inquire about sending your oudhiya to other countries.
The Ten of Thul-Hijjah and Arafah day (Oct. 14th, 2013)
The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam said, “No good deeds done on other days are superior to those done on these (first ten days of Dhul Hijjah).”
It is the day when pilgrims stand on the plain of ‘Arafah to pray. On this day, Muslims who do not witness the annual Hajj should spend the day in fasting.. The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam said, “Fasting on the Day of ‘Arafah absolves the sins for two years: the previous year and the coming year.”
