The daawa committee have a strong commitment to convey the Islamic message and strive to reach out to our neighbourhood to meet people and build bridges.

  • Somalia Relief Campaign: By the blessings of Allah and the cooperation of our brothers and sisters, we have collected and sent $12,500 CAD for the Somalia relief campaigns. In addition, the mosque community sent their Udhiya also to Somalia (about 100 lambs were sent during the week of the Eid).
  • Eid Celebration: For the first time in downtown Montreal, the Muslim community enjoyed a full scale celebration of the Eid. The day of the Eid started early by a breakfast after the prayers attended by 250 people (including families). Later on the day of the Eid, a party was also organized for children and a dinner for parents. It was an impressive day for the whole community and the feedback was inspiring.
  • Monthly social gathering: Striving to build a strong community in downtown Montréal, As-Salam administration organize a monthly social gathering on the last Saturday of every month during which entertainment programs are offered for kids and for adults. A dinner is served at the end.  The positive response is consistently positive and more than 125 are attending every month with 30-40 kids.
